Vintage tribal belly dance handmade Kochi or Banjara pendant on green cord necklace. The vintage pendant was handmade by the Kochi or Banjara peoples of Afghanistan or Northern India. I purchased several of these pendants without chains, so I have hand crafted soft, silky cord necklaces with vintage button clasps. The green cord on this one is 32" long and it has a vintage carved shell button for the clasp. The pendant measures about 4 1/2" x 2 3/8", including the dangles. The funky hand crafted aspect is part of the appeal, and slight irregularities should not be considered defects.
Vintage or antique pendant in good condition on new handmade cord necklace. The pendant is missing a rhinestone and may be missing small parts from the dangles. It has a bail in the back that just folds over the cord, but is not soldered (easy to remove, should you wish to put it on a chain). The cord necklace is hand sewn by me using silky drapery cord and a vintage button for a clasp. The cord is very soft, and the button is sewn on quite sturdily.
About the handmade cord necklace: Made of high quality, soft drapery cord. I learned to sew on buttons from my grandmother and mother, so the buttons are sewn on VERY securely. They won't come off, unlike the buttons on pretty much every piece of clothing in the stores these days. The cord is twisted cord that starts to untwist immediately when cut, so the cord is lashed in place securely with the stitching. It will either have a tassel end, where it is untwisting, or it may have remnants of tape on it that I used to hold it in place while sewing.

SHIPPING:
I combine shipping for multiple purchases. Additional items can be added to your order, if purchased and shipped at the same time, for the same shipping fee. Items priced over have free shipping included in the price; shipping is not combined for these items, since there is no separate shipping fee.
I cannot delay shipments, after you have paid. This is because my eBay seller rating is affected by shipments that eBay considers late. Items that have been paid MUST be shipped within one business day. No exceptions. If you want to delay shipment, delay your payment, and please let me know that is what you are doing.
If you have already paid for an item, I cannot combine the shipping for that item with later purchases.
Please ask about any special shipping or packaging requests BEFORE paying, since it's possible these may carry an additional cost. It is not necessary to ask me to pack items safely. I am always very careful with packing.

Q: How do you know what period an item is from?
A: The short answer is I have a B.A. in fine art and art history from the University of Michigan, and if the jewelry is from the 1970s or later, I have been looking at it all my life. The longer answer is that sometimes specific pieces are documented, or I can find something that is very similar in style that is documented, and I do a lot of research on pieces I am unfamiliar with. Often it's best guess.
Q: Why are your prices firm now?
A: My prices are as low as I can make them and stay in business. I used to accept offers, but instead I have lowered all my prices, and I can no longer accept offers. I do encourage resellers and collectors to take advantage of my volume pricing, which offers substantial discounts for sales of multiple items.
Q: How does the Volume Pricing work?
A: Add two or more of my items to your cart to get the discount. They can be different items. These discounted prices are my wholesale prices.
