PACKET.
* I am not certain the function of this piece but suspect it to be a
SAMPLE PACKET
used to promote and induce trial of the quack cure-all plasters (that were sold in tin tubular "boxes"). I found a brief history of the company at the link below (which you will have to cut and paste into your browser).

this was manufactured, but most of the product tubes and advertisements I was able to find info on are stated as being from the

I assume this piece to be of similar vintage.
* There appears to be
one piece
of--at least a partial--
plaster
inside the packet.
* Packet is made of a
moderately thick
paper
... It will close up like an envelope--with the top of the back inserted into the bottom piece--but I leave it was pictured out of fear of tearing or further creasing the fragile paper.

Packet
is functional and in quite nice shape for its age and intended usage. Exhibits some staining and other discoloration as well as some mostly light wear along edges and seams. There is one pinhole along one seam and a couple of creases in the top part of the back (that inserts into the bottom back piece of the packet). Most of the writing is clear and easy to read. The
plaster piece
is not overly brittle but is partially stuck to the paper packet (and I have not attempted to remove it out of fear of tearing something).
Please inspect pics carefully
